Sample-related distortions to measured data =========================================== This page contains information about various problems the XAS experimentalist might encounter which are related to the physical nature of the sample. The problems include *overabsorption* (sometimes called, possibly wrongly, *self absorption*), sample *thickness* effects, and sample *inhomogeneity* (or *pin hole*) effects.
